How to Get Involved
- Create an account here at Identity Commons in order to participate and join in the conversations. (Why do I need to create an account, can't I just use my OpenID or I-Name to sign-on? You need to first setup an account because an OpenID is not an account.) Once you've created an account, you can attach your OpenID (i-name or URL) to your account and then use your OpenID as a single-sign-on.
- Join one of the Community Groups - Identity Commons is organized as a set of distributed working groups.
- If you are new to this topic a perfect group to join is The Newbies4Newbies, a group of Newbies supporting other Newbies - sharing resources, getting questions answered by the community - sense making of all this material.
- Subscribe to the IC Community Mailing List - the publicly available list and list archives for discussion of topics affecting IC as a whole. Some of the Working Groups also have their own lists. (There is also the Identity Gang list that has been active for several years)
- Participate in telecons - See Stewards Council Telecons for information about how to participate in our quarterly (and sometimes more) calls, which are open to everyone in the Identity Commons community. Reading the minutes from these meetings will also give you a perspective of what's currently going on in Identity Commons
- Donate to ID Commons - Read How To Contribute to learn about making a donation to Identity Commons to help cover basic operating expenses.
- Edit the ID Commons Wiki - Use your OpenID URL or i-name to login, and follow the instructions. See Wikimedia Help for more information.
